Support for External Devices

Introduction

Different versions of the Liberty Recorder support various external devices. External devices are usually used to turn off and on lights or other indicators to confirm that recording is active. A number of supported external devices are documented on this page. Please consult with your Liberty Recording representative to determine which options are available to you.

Dataprobe iBoot Remote Power Control

Some versions of the Liberty Recorder support the Dataprobe iBoot Remote Power Controller. The iBoot may be connected to the recording PC across a standard IP network, or by USB. The iBoot controls a standard 110V outlet. Any standard 110V device, such as a light or sign, may be plugged into the iBoot. The Liberty Recorder will signal to the iBoot any time recording is activated and the iBoot will turn on the power to its 110V outlet. When recording is stopped, the Liberty Recorder will signal to the iBoot to turn off the power to the 110V outlet. Please consult with your Liberty Recording representative to determine if this option is available to you.

Please see the Dataprobe website for further details regarding the iBoot.

LR-101 Support for SparkFun 110V Power Switch

Some versions of the Liberty Recorder support an LR-101 device connected to the PC by USB. The LR-101 may be configured to turn a low-voltage pair of wires off and on, syncronized with recording. The low-voltage signal from the LR-101 may in turn be connected to the SparkFun Power Switch to control a 110V outlet. The outlet power will turn off and on, syncronized with recording on the PC. Please consult with your Liberty Recording representative to determine if this option is available to you.

Please see the SparkFun website for further details regarding the SparkFun Power Switch.

LR-101 Support for Phidgets Low-Voltage Relay

Some versions of the Liberty Recorder support an LR-101 device connected to the PC by USB. The LR-101 may be configured to turn a low-voltage pair of wires off and on, syncronized with recording. The low-voltage signal from the LR-101 may in turn be connected to the Phidgets Low-Voltage relay to control a circuit of up to 40Vdc. The relay will in turn turn off and on, syncronized with recording on the PC. Please consult with your Liberty Recording representative to determine if this option is available to you.

Please see this Phidgets website for further details regarding the Low-Voltage Relay.
