Three different editions are available. These include:

• Transcription Buddy plays pre-recorded audio files and allows you to listen and control the playback, while at the same time, transcribing the audio into another PC application like Word. An optional foot pedal is available to control the playback.
  
  
• Dictation Buddy has all of the playback features of Transcription Buddy, including support for an optional foot pedal, but also includes the ability to record audio from a microphone on the PC's mic input jack or with a USB mic like the Philips Speech Mike Pro.
  
  
• The Dial-Out Edition has all of the playback features of Transcription Buddy. When used with a compatible voice modem, the Dial-Out Edition also works as a transcription station or "C-Phone" and will allow your PC to control playback on dictation systems from companies like Dictaphone and Lanier. The playback may also be recorded onto the PC for future transcription.

All versions are supported on Windows 95 /98 /Me /NT /2000 /XP/Vista and W7. The only requirement of the PC is that it be equipped with a standard sound card. To use the dial-out functions of the Dial-Out Edition, the PC must be equipped with a suitable voice modem.
