How to Join a Virtual Court Hearing with a Link
Courts may provide participants with a secure link to join a virtual or hybrid court hearing.
This guide explains how to join a Liberty Virtual Courtroom session from a Windows computer, web browser, iPhone, iPad, or Android device. Before joining, make sure you have a stable internet connection and permission to use your microphone, speakers, and camera.
For the best experience, join the hearing a few minutes early and follow any instructions provided by the court.
Before You Begin
Before clicking your virtual court link, please confirm that:
- You are using the device you plan to use for the hearing.
- Your microphone, speakers, and camera are working.
- You are in a quiet location with a stable internet connection.
- You have your case number, name, or other court-requested information available.
- You have downloaded the Liberty Virtual Courtroom app if required by the court.
Joining from an iPhone, iPad, or Android Device
When joining from a mobile device, you may need to install the Liberty Virtual Courtroom app before accessing the hearing.
Before clicking the court-provided link, download and install the Liberty Virtual Courtroom app from the appropriate app store.
Once the app is installed, return to the link provided by the court and open it to join the virtual courtroom.
Joining from a Windows Computer
You can join a virtual court hearing from a Windows computer using either the Liberty Virtual Courtroom app or, when supported by the court, a web browser.
To use the Windows app, your computer must be running Windows 7 or later. You should also have a working microphone, speakers or headset, and a webcam if video participation is required.
Click the link provided by the court to open the virtual courtroom access page.
From this page, you may be able to either download and run the Windows app or join from your browser.
Choose to either download and run the Windows app or join the court from your browser.
Download and Run the Windows App
1.) Click the Download Windows App button to download the virtual courtroom program to your Downloads folder.
2.) When the download is complete, your browser will show that the file is available. Different browsers display downloads in different ways. Depending on your browser, you may be able to open the program directly from the browser, or you may need to go to your Downloads folder and double-click the downloaded file.
3.) Windows may ask you to confirm that you want to run the program. If prompted, choose Run, Open, or the equivalent option to allow the application to start.
4.) After the program opens, you may be prompted to enter additional information such as your name, case number, docket number, or your role in the hearing. Enter the requested information and click OK.
5.) Once connected to the courtroom, you may see a message indicating that the court has not yet started the hearing or that you have not yet been admitted. Please remain connected and wait for the clerk or court staff to begin the hearing or bring you into the courtroom.
Join from Your Browser
Browser access may not be supported by all browsers or all devices. If browser access does not work, use the Windows app instead. For the best experience, we recommend downloading and using the Windows app when available.
1.) Click the Join from Your Browser button to join the virtual court through your browser.
2.) Click Login.
3.) Your browser may ask for permission to use your camera and microphone. You must allow access to both the microphone and camera in order to participate in the hearing.
4.) Enter the information requested by the court, such as your name, case number, docket number, or role in the hearing, and click OK.
5.) You are now in the lobby of the court. Please wait to be summoned into a courtroom by court staff.

If you cannot access the virtual courtroom, contact the court using the instructions provided with your hearing notice. Liberty Recording does not schedule hearings, issue court links, or determine when participants are admitted into a courtroom.
